We strive to meet all of your training needs, whether it's for the new dog owner who needs some help with a new puppy, to the seasoned dog owner who wants to take their dog to a higher level of obedience, check out our programs below and we'll help you find the best fit for you and your pup!
All dogs enrolled in classes MUST meet the requirements of Hounds On The Hudson, dogs must be up to date with vaccines, including Bordatella (Kennel Cough) and age appropriate DHLPP* and Rabies vaccines and proof must be supplied by your veterinarians office. Dogs must be in good health and sound temperament, serious behavioral problems can be referred for help outside of group class.
Is your young dog running you ragged? Need help getting control over your crazy canine? Then this is the class for you! Specifically geared towards the adolescent dog, we'll show you how to get that precocious pup to slow down, with instruction on such basic commands as sit, down, stay, come, and the all important leave it and drop it commands. We'll also show you how to control his impulses and make you an effective leader of the pack!
For dogs ages 6 months to 18 months of age
Looking to take your dog to the highest level? This is the class that will get you and your canine companion there! Geared toward the goal of off leash reliability, this class will teach people to become great handlers and dogs to be the best they can be. Instruction includes competition heeling, perfecting the recall under any situation or distraction, how to finish a command with a flourish, and much more!
For dogs ages 1 year and up, and dogs must have completed the basic obedience course!

If you're tired of your dog taking you for a drag and not a walk, then our leash clinic is the right place for you! A single, 90 minute class tailored to teaching you how to master the art of the loose leash and keeping your dog under control at all times.

If you're looking to find something fun and engaging to do with your dog, then agility is the class for you! Agility is not only a great way to boost your dogs confidence, but it strengthens the bond between the handler and dog like no other sport. Instruction includes introduction to the jumps, weave poles, dog walk, and chutes and tunnels.
This is an open ended class, participants at all levels may come at any time!
For dogs ages 1 year and up, dogs MUST be well socialized and non aggressive with other dogs!

The 5 week class will help you and your dog become ready for passing the Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dog test, and it includes skills such as greeting behaviors for physical impairment, "Leave It" command, being in close quarters such as elevators and becoming acclimated to medical equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers and canes. Testing will take place on the sixth week after class has commenced by Bright and Beautiful, and the cost of the test is included with class tuition.
